The artwork
of William Wolk is featured in this issue of Cancer Control. Born in 1951 in
Miami, Florida, he showed an early interest in drawing and painting. He spent
one year in drawing study at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota,
Florida. He also attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, but after
two weeks he set out on his own for self study in the citys lovely museums
and churches. From the masterpieces on their walls, he learned the techniques
of the worlds greatest artists. Since 1984, William Wolk has been Artist
in Residence at The Greenbrier, a five-star, five-diamond resort hotel nestled
in the Allegheny Mountains. He is represented in private collections throughout
the world. His Web address is www.williamwolk.com.
